Op 14 december 2016 wordt er op de Universiteit Leiden een colloquium over middeleeuws medische handschriften georganiseerd:
This colloquium is devoted to medieval manuscripts with medical texts. The papers are devoted to the both the contents and physical appearance of these objects. Discussed are a variety of contextual issues, including the production centers of medical manuscripts, their manner of use, and the individuals for whom the books were made. The geographical focus is the Latin West, though connections with the Arabic tradition will be drawn. The Long Twelfth Century, when medical manuscripts were first produced in large numbers, is a common thread joining many of the papers.
